Technology
As a leader amongst Unitarian Universalists in the use of technology for outreach, publicity and inter-organizational communications, my candidacy is built on the promise to expand the technological capacities of the the UUA.
In addition, CMwD staff, the UUA Board and the General Assembly have all started using a number of interactive media and remote meeting tools with which new trustees must be familiar if they are to be effective participants on the Board.
As I am always looking for new ways to utilize the technological resources available to us, I promise to be an agent of positive change for both the CMwD and UUA.
Admittedly, one of the most disappointing elements of my ten-year association with the UUA is the state of the UUA.org website. Still mired by confusing navigation, ineffectual (and unnecessary) external search feature, and inconsistent image work, UUA.org is neither the public presence nor the internal resource it needs to be.
As a seasoned web designer who has worked for 10 years with dozens of different UU Districts, congregations and organizations, I promise to ask the tough questions and advocate for the type of useful, professional internet presence from our Association that we deserve.
